Parkview Farm
About Us

Parkview Farm is a boarding, braining and teaching facility located in Covington, Louisiana. Nestled on the northshore of Lake Pontchartrain in St. Tammany Parish, we are approximately 50 miles north of New Orleans.  Focusing on customer service, our philosophy is that the care of your horse takes priority above anything else we do.  We want horses to be healthy, comfortable and happy while in our care. Boarders at Parkview have access to a new outdoor arena and a 65-foot round pen for training.

In addition to offering monthly full-board, Parkview offers overnight layovers to travellers, temporary board for owners needing care arrangements for a short period of time, as well as emergency boarding should there be a hurricane threat (or threat of another natural disaster).  We also accommodate mares close to parturition and offer 24-hour mare care up to 2 months before foaling date.

Lessons at Parkview are offered by Cindy Morgan-D'Atrio, a graduate (and valedictorian) of Meredith Manor International Equestrian Institute and very well-rounded and skilled horsewoman.  Cindy began riding raceshorses at the Fairgrounds in New Orleans at the ripe old age of 14.  From there, she rode hunters and jumpers, campaigned Saddlebreds, Arabians and most frequently, Morgans in multiple disciplines, including driving. She has also shown draft horses in hand and in harness. Her first love, however, has always been dressage. Cindy's approach to training and teaching blends theory and the importance of understanding what the horse is doing underneath the rider to maximize rider efficacy and effectiveness, regardless of discipline.

Cindy has worked with champions in many disciplines and breeds. Although her career in the show ring has been met with much success, Cindy has spent a great deal of time working with horses that have been neglected, mistreated, over-trained, or simply started the wrong way.  She is happiest working to find the right fit or "niche" for each horse and understands that the needs of every horse are unique.  Regardless of breed, the ultimate goal is to ensure that horses achieve their potential in disciplines for which they are best suited, built for, and are the happiest.

Note We are delighted to have Parkview Summer Spirit ("Summer"), our tri-color, Chincoteague Pony, and "Sundance" (affectionately known as "Dance"), grace the header photo on our website!  Cindy holds these two responsible for getting her back into the profession. She is eternally grateful!
